Water Softener Installation & Repair
Central Florida tap water is hard, and that hardness shows up everywhere: spots on your glassware, mineral buildup on fixtures, and a steady toll on the pipes and appliances throughout your home. A water softener is the most direct way to solve the problem at the source.
As one of the area’s most trusted plumbers, True Plumbers & AC installs and repairs water softening systems across Plant City, Lakeland, and the surrounding communities. We work with both ion exchange and reverse osmosis systems, and we back our new installations with a one-year workmanship warranty.
Water Softener Installation & Repair in Central Florida: Advanced Filtration Systems
Hard water is more than a nuisance. The same minerals that leave stains on your shower door and spots on your dishes also build up inside your plumbing, where you cannot see them, slowly restricting flow and shortening the life of everything water touches.
A properly chosen and installed softener addresses all of that at once, using ion exchange or reverse osmosis to strip the hardness before it ever reaches your fixtures.
Why Your Property Needs a Water Softening System
Hard water carries dissolved calcium and magnesium. Those minerals create scale buildup inside pipes, leave stains on glass and fixtures, corrode plumbing over time, and are especially hard on your water heater, where they collect at the bottom of the tank and force the unit to work harder.
Left unaddressed, hard water steadily reduces the lifespan of every water-using appliance in the house. A softener protects that investment.
Types of Water Softener Systems for Central Florida Properties
We install two primary types of softening systems, along with additional options depending on your needs. Each works differently, and we help you match the right one to your water and your household.
- Ion Exchange: Water is filtered through a resin that holds positively charged sodium ions. Those ions react with the calcium and magnesium in the water, causing the hardness minerals to cling to the resin while the sodium passes through instead, creating soft water. Periodically the system runs a regeneration process, washing the resin with a salt solution to replenish the sodium ions and clear off any calcium or magnesium buildup.
- Reverse Osmosis: Water is filtered through a semi-permeable membrane that removes 98% of the total dissolved solids in the water. Depending on the system you choose, there can be one to three different types of filters within the unit.
We Repair Broken Seals, Water Lines, & Adjust System Settings
A softener is a long-term piece of equipment, and over time it may need attention. Our team repairs broken seals, fixes water lines, and adjusts system settings to keep yours performing the way it should.
We also handle water testing and can walk you through replacement options if a system has reached the end of its service life. New installations carry a one-year workmanship warranty, and manufacturers typically provide a five-year warranty on the head, excluding seals, and a 10-year warranty on the fiberglass tank.
