Foreign [Music] for True Builders I was working for my stepdad and doing mechanics stuff like that some single kid no wife no no family no kids uh live and paycheck to paycheck you know looking for uh the next thrill yeah I was uh searching definitely for uh somewhere to fit in somewhere to something to be a part of and that's when I came to work here for a couple days and saw that this is something I want to be a part of but I came in started with uh the mitigation side of the company doing the dry outs I did that for a couple years in the beginning then from there moved on to the rebuild side so I got to do the dry out the cleanup and then got to see the putback side of it too and that's just as satisfying for the customer for the for us to see them watch their house come back together and even better than it was before then the fleet started growing the whole company started growing and I had some mechanic experience before working with my dad and it just it just kind of rolled over I think when I took over the fleet it was uh I want to say like 10 Vehicles it wasn't that many that included Mark and Issac's personal trucks until now we're at 49. so I got to see it double several times and that was really cool especially when it comes to you and says hey I see your trucks everywhere and I can think of myself yeah it's because they are everywhere there's a bunch of them that's uh that's one thing that's really cool about this company is uh they take the time to develop you um they they take the time to coach they have a lot of uh programs set up for coaching people coaching guys to become better leaders to become better fathers become better husbands it's it's it's cool to say think that this job will make you better outside of this job you know and uh it has it has I've I've gotten married since I've worked here had kids now that's one thing this company has done it's helped settle me um it's just much more laid back happy come to work happy to leave work happy go home happy it's just that's a good life to have and it's all the thanks to true God and true [Music]

Before True, John Kunze was doing mechanic work for his stepdad, "living paycheck to paycheck, looking for the next thrill." He came to work for a couple of days and saw something he wanted to be part of. He started on the mitigation side, moved to rebuilds, and eventually took over the fleet - which grew from about 10 vehicles when he started to 49 in this video.

John's before-and-after number - 10 trucks to 49 - is more than a growth stat. Response time in the trades is mostly geometry: the more trucks a company runs across Polk, Hillsborough, and Pasco counties, the shorter the distance between your emergency and the nearest available crew.
