Watching a Hydro Jetter Clear a Blocked Line in Real Time
Most homeowners never get to see what actually happens inside their drain line. In this clip, a customer named Brad watches the True Plumbers hydro jetter work his line in real time - and the reaction says more than any brochure could.
What jetting does that a cable cannot
A drain cable spins a blade through the clog and opens a channel - effective, fast, and the right call for a simple obstruction. But in a line coated with grease or invaded by roots, the cable leaves the walls dirty, which is why some homes end up on a first-name basis with their plumber. A jetter works differently: high-pressure water scours the entire circumference of the pipe back to bare wall and flushes everything downstream. It is the difference between poking a hole in the problem and removing it.
When jetting is the right call
- The same drain keeps clogging on a schedule - recurrence means residue, and residue is what jetting removes
- Grease-heavy kitchen lines, at home or in a restaurant
- Root intrusion after the roots have been cut, to clear the debris and slow regrowth
- Before a camera inspection or pipe lining, when the pipe needs to be truly clean
Is it safe for older pipes?
Good question, honest answer: usually, but not blindly. A professional crew assesses the line first - often with a camera - because a pipe that is structurally failing needs repair, not pressure. That is also your buying guide: be wary of anyone who quotes jetting without asking how old the house is.
